What cookies are and why we use them
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return to the site, the browser sends that file back, so the site can recognise your session and remember what you did. Alongside cookies we use similar technologies such as pixels, local storage and software development kits in our apps; where this policy says cookies, it covers all of them.
We use cookies for four broad reasons. First, to make the site work at all: keeping you signed in as you move between pages, holding your basket of selections, and protecting your account and our systems from fraud and automated attacks. Second, to understand how the site performs, so we can fix errors and speed up pages that load slowly. Third, to remember your settings, such as your language, display preferences and the deposit and session limits shown in your account. Fourth, with your consent, to measure and tailor the marketing you see.
As a licensed gambling operator we also rely on some of these technologies to support age and identity verification, to apply self-exclusion and time-out requests consistently, and to keep records that demonstrate we are meeting our obligations. Those uses are part of running a safe, 18+ only service and cannot be switched off while you are using your account with us.
The categories of cookies we set
The cookie notice on our site groups cookies into the four categories below. The notice lists the individual cookies in each category, who sets them and how long they last; that list is kept up to date and is the most accurate description at any given moment.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to function and for your account to stay secure. They keep your log-in session active so you are not asked for your password on every page, balance traffic across our servers, remember the stage you have reached in registration, deposit or withdrawal, and help us detect unusual activity on an account. They also record whether you have made a cookie choice, so we do not show the notice again on every visit. Because the service cannot be delivered without them, they are set without consent and cannot be refused through our notice.
Performance and analytics cookies
These help us see how the site is used in aggregate: which pages are visited, how long they take to load, where a journey such as account verification is abandoned, and which error messages appear most often. We use that information to fix faults and improve navigation. The reporting we look at is statistical and does not identify you to our analytics providers as a named player.
Functionality cookies
These remember choices you have made so the site behaves the way you expect. Examples include your display language and region, your preferred layout or sound settings, recently opened sections of the lobby, and whether you have dismissed an on-screen message. If you refuse them, the site still works, but you may need to set these preferences again on each visit.
Marketing cookies
These are only set if you agree to them. They record which of our adverts and e-mails you have seen or opened, help us avoid showing you the same message repeatedly, and measure whether a campaign led to a visit. They may also be used to show you our adverts on other sites. We do not use marketing cookies to target anyone who has self-excluded, asked us to stop sending marketing, or who appears on a blocking scheme.
| Category | Typical purpose | Needs your consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Log-in sessions, security, fraud prevention, account verification steps | No |
| Performance and analytics | Page speed, error reporting, aggregated usage statistics | Yes |
| Functionality | Language, layout and display preferences | Yes |
| Marketing | Measuring campaigns, limiting repeat adverts | Yes |
How to manage your cookie choices
You can change your mind at any time. There are two places to do it.
- In our cookie notice. When you first arrive you can accept all cookies, refuse everything that is not strictly necessary, or open the settings panel and choose category by category. The settings panel can be reopened from the cookie link in the footer of every page, and your new choice applies straight away.
- In your browser. Every modern browser lets you see the cookies stored on your device, delete them, block them from particular sites, or block third-party cookies altogether. The controls sit in the privacy or security part of the browser settings menu, and mobile browsers and apps have their own equivalents.
- On your device. Mobile operating systems offer a setting that limits advertising identifiers, which reduces the measurement described in the marketing category above.
Cookies are stored per browser and per device, so a choice made on a laptop does not carry across to a phone. Clearing your cookies also clears the record of your consent, which is why the notice appears again after a clean-up.
What happens if you block cookies
Refusing optional cookies has no effect on your ability to play, and we do not restrict any part of the service because you said no to analytics or marketing. Blocking strictly necessary cookies in your browser is different: the site relies on them, so parts of it will stop working.
- You may be unable to log in, or you may be signed out every time you open a new page.
- Deposits, withdrawals and verification steps may not complete, because the journey cannot be held together between screens.
- Preferences such as language will reset on each visit, and some pages may display incorrectly or not load at all.
- The cookie notice will reappear on every visit, because the record of your choice cannot be stored.
- Our security checks may treat the connection as suspicious and ask for extra confirmation.
If something stops working after you change a setting, allowing cookies for our site and refreshing the page usually resolves it.
Changes to this policy and how to reach us
We update this policy when the cookies we use change, when the technology changes, or when the rules that apply to us change. The version published on the site is the current one, and the list in the cookie notice is always the most detailed record of what is set. We suggest you look over this page from time to time.
How we handle the personal data collected through cookies, the lawful basis we rely on and the rights you can exercise are explained in our Privacy Policy, which should be read alongside this page.
If you have a question about cookies, want help changing your settings, or wish to make a request about your data, write to us at support@casinobetpanda.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. Our team will look into it and reply to you directly.
