Why we use your data and the legal bases for it
We only use your personal data where the law gives us a basis for doing so. In plain words, those bases are: to carry out the contract we have with you when you open an account; to meet a legal duty we are under; for our legitimate interests in running a safe and fair gambling service, provided your rights do not outweigh them; and, for marketing, your consent.
| What we use it for | Why we are allowed to |
|---|---|
| Opening, running and closing your account, processing deposits, withdrawals and bets, and giving you support | To carry out our contract with you |
| Verifying your age, identity, address and payment methods before and during play | A legal duty, and our licence obligations |
| Preventing fraud, money laundering, account takeover, bonus abuse and collusion | A legal duty, and our legitimate interest in protecting customers and the service |
| Monitoring play for signs of harm and applying limits, time-outs and self-exclusion | A legal duty, and our legitimate interest in safer gambling |
| Keeping records of transactions, communications and complaints | A legal duty, and our legitimate interest in keeping accurate records |
| Improving the site, testing new features and keeping systems secure | Our legitimate interest in running a reliable service |
| Sending offers, promotions and newsletters by e-mail, SMS or push message | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
If you opted into marketing, you can change your mind whenever you like in your account settings, by using the unsubscribe option in any message, or by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect messages already sent, and we will still send service messages about your account, such as verification requests, payment confirmations and changes to these terms.
How long we keep your data and how we protect it
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for the period that the law, our licence conditions and our record-keeping duties require. We do not set out exact periods here, because they differ by record type and change when the rules change. Once a period ends, we delete the data or anonymise it so it can no longer be linked to you.
Some records are kept longer than others by necessity. Verification documents, transaction histories and anti-money-laundering records must be retained after an account closes. If you have self-excluded or asked us to close your account for gambling-related reasons, we keep enough information to make sure the request is honoured and that you are not marketed to.
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls that limit who can see it, logging of access to sensitive records, secure storage of verification documents, and staff training. No system can be guaranteed, so please keep your password private, use a strong and unique one, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
Your rights and how to use them
Under UK data protection law you have the following rights over the personal data we hold about you:
- Access - ask for a copy of the data we hold about you and information about how we use it
- Correction - ask us to fix data that is wrong or incomplete
- Erasure - ask us to delete data where we no longer have a reason to keep it
- Restriction - ask us to pause our use of your data while a question about it is settled
- Objection - object to use based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
- Portability - ask for the data you gave us in a commonly used electronic format
- Withdrawing consent - turn off marketing or any other use that relies on your consent
- Complaint - raise the matter with the Information Commissioner's Office
To use any of these rights, write to support@casinobetpanda.co.uk or privacy@casinobetpanda.co.uk, or start a conversation in the live chat on the site. Tell us which right you want to use and what the request covers. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that nobody else can obtain your data, and we will answer within the time limit set by law. Requests are free, unless one is clearly excessive or repeated.
Some rights are limited. We cannot delete records we are required to keep for anti-money-laundering, safer gambling or licence purposes, and we cannot stop processing where it is needed to meet a legal duty. If we cannot do what you have asked, we will explain why and tell you what we can do instead. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which is the supervisory authority for data protection in the United Kingdom.
